Today, I am using items from Dollar Tree to challenge myself to see how high-end I can make these Dollar Tree items look!

Below is a list of the items you will need to recreate this project:

Let’s get started!

First, you will want to remove the stickers. I like to do this with a heat gun so that it does not leave any sticky residue.

Next, cut down a piece of scrap wood to fit the length of your breadboard.

Using wood glue apply glue to one side of the wood and press it to the bottom of the breadboard. Approximately, an inch and a half from the bottom.

While waiting for the glue to dry, cut down 4 wood planks. You can also find these at the Dollar Tree.

You will want each wood plank to be the same size.

You may notice that I did not cut mine down small enough initially, so make sure you measure before you cut!

Next, use your antiquing glaze to paint the wood planks.

If you have wood stain, you could also use that. However, I prefer the antiquing glaze because it creates a lovely aged look and dries very quickly.

Tip: Don’t forget to paint the sides because they will show!

Now, you are ready to paint your breadboard.

I am using Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Everett. This is such a beautiful green color that pairs so well with wood tones.

Using your Staalmeester pointed sash brush you will only need to paint 1 coat on the breadboard.

Fusion Mineral Paint has incredible coverage!

While your breadboard dries, lay out your wood planks and find your IOD Letterpress Stamps.

I love these stamps because the type is smaller and you get three different fonts. You can get lots of use out of this stamp!

For this project, I chose to spell out the word F-A-L-L.

Note: there is only one L so you will need to reuse that stamp on two wood planks.

Next, lay your thin mount on top of the stamp.

Then flip over your thin mount and press your IOD ink pad into the stamp.

In this example, I am using IOD Ink in the color Black.

Once the ink has been applied to the stamp you will flip it over and center it on your wood plank.

Once the stamp is centered on the wood plank you will push the stamp into the wood so that the ink transfers.

Stamping is my favorite because it gives an old vintage look that I absolutely love!

I love to use twine and greenery to embellish my breadboard handles.

I get this twine from Dollar Tree, and I love it so much that I purchase it by the case. You can use it for so many projects!

Instead of greenery, I chose to use sprigs of cotton for my breadboard.

The cotton looks gorgeous with the Fusion Everette Mineral Paint and fits perfectly with my fall home decor!

I clipped a few sprigs of my cotton and tucked the stems into the twine so that they loosely hung off of the breadboard handle.

Next, you can arrange your FALL wood planks on the base of the breadboard.

You can use any type of fall embellishment to decorate your breadboard.

I found these small apples at the Dollar Tree and they are SO cute!

I ended up adding a little bit of antiquing glaze to the stem of the apple just to give it a more aged look.

This project was very fun and easy. I think our breadboard turned out amazing!
