Looking for a DIY project that is affordable AND adorable? You’ve found it!

Upcycling treasures from Goodwill one thrifted find at a time is my favorite activity. I love how I can transform ordinary items into extraordinary creations full of character and charm with something as simple as a can of paint and a paintbrush. And that is exactly what I did for this goodwill thrift flip.

DIY Beginner? DIY Pro? It doesn’t matter - everyone can tackle this one and come out with a stunning tiered stand. Don’t forget to tag me in your final projects (@juliesdesignsandsigns).

In this blog, I will show you How To Create A Vintage Tiered Tray from Goodwill Thrifted Items!

Below is a list of the items you will need to recreate this project:

I found these two white plates at Goodwill that I thought were beautiful. They looked so good stacked together so I knew I needed them. As soon as I noticed the hole in the bottom, I knew these had once been a tiered set and I made it my mission to recreate what these once were!

I knew that I needed to find another tiered tray that I could take apart. Unfortunately, I didn’t find one while I was out thrifting but I did find this piece in my stash. If you are looking to thrift or purchased one of these - I recommend searching for antique cake stand rods.

This piece unscrews in the middle so that I can attach the top plate.

I didn’t like the gold tone color so I decided to paint it black.

I used a STAALMEESTER Fitch Artist Brush and Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Ash.

One of the best things about using Fusion Mineral Paint is that it is an all-in-one paint so it will stick to the product really well.

Plus, it has a built in sealer so I don’t have to worry about sealing it with more product.

As soon as the paint dried, I was able to assemble the tiered tray.

What do you think? I love how this simple and easy DIY project turned out.
