Have you ever wondered how you can take a newer product and give it an aged, vintage look? Fusion Milk Paint is one of my favorite ways to achieve this style.

All you need is Fusion Milk Paint and a heat gun to pull this off!

In this blog, I will show you How To Create A Chippy Paint Effect Using Fusion Milk Paint!

Below is a list of the items you will need to recreate this project:

I found this wood box at the goodwill bins and decided it would pair really well with one of the metal handles that I have in my stash at home!

I decided to use Fusion Milk Paint in the color Stockholm Green.

I sell a wide variety of milk paint colors of my website that you can choose from! Here are a few of my favorite colors below:

Milk paint comes in a powder form.

Mix 1/2 paint with 1/2 water and then stir it together to create the paint mixture.

Once you have your paint all mixed up you can paint your piece like you would with any other paint.

If you want full coverage, I recommend doing 2 full coats of paint.

This is what one coat of paint will look like on your item.

After I apply the second coat of paint, I like to use a heat gun to dry the paint.

This technique will give your milk paint a crackled look.

How neat is that? This gives your piece a beautiful aged look!

Then, you will want to use a piece of sandpaper to lightly sand the paint.

This will cause the chipped paint to flake off a little bit and give you that perfect vintage vibe!

The last step for this project, was to apply this old rusty metal handle.

I used a combination of gorilla glue and hot glue to attach the metal handle.

The gorilla glue will permanently attach the handle to the box and the hot glue will keep the handle in place while the gorilla glue dries.
