If you followed my latest tutorial showing How To DIY A Thrifted Book With Resin Castings you probably saw these beautiful resin castings that I made for that project.

I used the IOD Moulds Collection called - Lock & Key!

You all know I hate to waste things so I tossed the leftover resin castings into my stash to use for future projects!

I had this wooden brush in my stash so I decided to pair them together.

I used a STAALMEESTER Round Artist Brush to paint Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Inglenook over the entire resin casting.

Once the paint dried, I applied hot glue to the backside of the resin casting.

Then, I pressed the resin casting right into the center of the wooden side of the brush.

I wanted to give the brush a rustic vintage look, so I brushed on a coat of Dixie Belle White Wax all over with a Dixie Belle French Tip Brush.

This technique really pulled the two pieces together, making it seem like they were meant to be a pair from the start.

I love how the white wax brings out all the little details in the mold and gives the wood this cool, weathered white look.

After I applied a coat of wax, I used a dry paper towel to wipe off any excess.

And that is it!

This was a quick, fun and easy project that allowed me to not waste resin and finally relocate this wooden brush from my cluttered work desk. Ha!
