I frequently come across these mini planters at the thrift store – they're essentially halved apple baskets.

On their own, they appear a bit boring as wall decor so I decided to add a backdrop.

I used a wood board that I already had and had previously painted with Fusion Milk Paint in the color Raw Silk. It’s a beautiful color and pairs really well with the Highlander red. You could also use a shutter or a cabinet door that already has a nice trim around the edge.

I decided to use my favorite Christmas paint color to paint my half-basket.

Using a STAALMEESTER Pointed Sash Brush and Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Highlander, I painted 2 coats onto my planter.

To hang the board, I used a beautiful Christmas ribbon to create a little hanger at the top.

Using my staple gun, I attached the ribbon to the top backside of the board.

And lastly, I used my nail gun to attach the half basket to the board.

& that’s it! This project was quick, simple & easy!

To style my hanging wall art basket, I decided to fill it with Christmas greenery. You can easily refresh this wall art throughout the year by switching out the floral contents in the basket.

REMINDER: My website has greenery that would be perfect to add to your floral hanging wall art!
