First, I took my spindles to my miter saw and cut them down into smaller pieces.

To camouflage the fresh cuts, I applied Fusion paint in the color Cobblestone so that it blended in with the rest of the spindle color.

I decided that these spindles would pair well with the green glass Christmas trees.

Then, I painted half of the spindles Rustic Red with this Dixie Belle Mineral Paint and paired those with the silver mercury glass trees.

I used a STAALMEESTER Pointed Sash Brush to apply 1 coat of rustic red paint to the spindles.

Once the paint was dry, I lightly sanded the spindle so that they had a rustic appearance.

Pay close attention to this next technique - you will use both gorilla glue AND a hot glue gun to attach the trees to the spindles.

First, apply gorilla glue to the base of the Christmas tree.

Then, apply hot glue to the base of the tree.

The gorilla glue will permanently hold everything in place, but the hot glue will dry quickly, so the gorilla glue has time to set in.

How unique are these? They turned out so well!
