This vintage ceramic Christmas tree has been on the website for a while and has yet to sell. So I decided that we are going to paint it!

Dixie Belle Seas Spray is a texture additive.

When you add it to paint, it adds a lot more texture to your paint. When you paint it on your piece, it will give it a pottery look.

All you have to do is add the sea spray to your paint. The more you use, the more texture your paint will have.

For this project, I went very textured.

Using my STAALMEESTER Pointed Sash Brush I applied the paint all over my ceramic Christmas tree.

Adding sea spray is a great way of covering cracks and imperfections since the thickness will help cover those up. This was perfect for this project because my tree had some cracks and a few of the lightbulbs were missing.

How beautiful is that Christmas tree? The color and texture looks beautiful!

Since my Christmas tree is missing some of the lightbulbs, I had the idea of adding an embellishment to cover up those areas.

I purchased these ceramic birds because I knew they would look beautiful attached to the tree.

Using my hot glue gun, I applied glue to the bottom of the bird.

Then, I placed it on the tree in the places missing light bulbs.

And that was it!

If you go to a thrift store, there is a good chance you will see a ceramic Christmas tree like this! Are you ready to recreate this look?

Remember, you can also recreate this technique on other ceramic pieces as well!
