Prepare to be amazed by today's project! Not only is it incredibly budget-friendly, but it also resulted in a charming piece of home decor. The best part? You could utilize it for it’s intended purpose to wrap a gift. Except your new creation is much more unique and the gift recipient can utilize the bag as decor in their home. A win-win!

In this blog, I will show you How To Use IOD Transfers To Transform A Thrifted Wine Gift Bag from Goodwill!

Below is a list of the items you will need to recreate this project:

This burlap wine holder had the cutest handles. I knew I could DIY this item into something truly unique!

I wanted to cover up the wine portion so I decided to paint the front of the bag with Fusion Paint in the color Rose Water.

Fusion has 3 beautiful pinks that go really well together! I have used these colors in both of my girls rooms.

>> Damask

>> Rose Water

>> Peony

I used a STAALMEESTER Angled brush so that I could carefully edge the entire piece.

Fusion paint has great coverage so I only had to use 1 coat of paint.

I knew I wanted to add a beautiful floral transfer to this piece. I chose the Floral Parisiensis collection!

I could have used the entire floral piece but I decided to cut mine up and use it in a few different spaces on this project.

First, I cut out the piece that I wanted to transfer.

Then, I cut the transfer down so that it fit the area where I wanted to transfer it.

Next, I pulled the white backing sheet off of the transfer.

And I lined up the transfer where I wanted it to lay on the paint.

Using my transfer tool, I rubbed the transfer into the painted section so that the image would evenly transfer onto the project.

IOD Transfers always transfer super seamlessly onto Fusion Paint.

I didn’t want to waste any of the transfers so I decided to flip the bag over and apply the floral scraps to the backside of the bag.

Then, I used a STAALMEESTER Fitch Artist Brush and Fusion Decoupage Gel to seal the transfer onto the fabric.

This product works perfect for when you want to glue something but you also want to seal it too.

I really liked how this project turned out! The color palate turned out so much better than I thought I would.

I decided to hang it on a hook in my home and add a little bit of floral.
