This has become one of my favorite projects! If you loved my wooden spindle carrot DIY video, then you are going to love this matching custom tray that I created too!

With the help of IOD Transfers, a little bit of paint, and a thrifted wooden tray, I transformed it into a stunning custom tray that's ready to complement my Easter decorations.

In this blog, I will show you How To DIY A Custom Tray To Match Your Easter Decor!

Below is a list of the items you will need to recreate this project:

Once I saw how adorable the DIY carrots were I decided to create a custom tray to display them on.

I had this wooden tray in my stash already but I bet you could easily find one at your local thrift store.

I painted this tray with Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Raw Silk.

This is one of my favorite colors, it is a very pretty off-white color.

This is an all-in-one paint so I do not have to worry about sealing it. This is one reason why I love using Fusion paints!

I applied 2 coats of paint and then let it dry.

Then, I lightly distressed the edges of the tray with sandpaper.

Next, I used IOD’s Whispering Willow transfer collection to transfer a cute little bunny to my tray.

I cut out the bunny and then I decided that I wanted to transfer it to the right side of the tray.

This left the other side of the tray open so that I could lay the carrots on the other side.

To transfer the bunny, follow these steps:

  • Remove the white backing from your transfer.

  • Place the bunny onto the tray where you want it to be.

  • Start by rubbing the flat parts, then work on the curved edges.

  • Use your transfer tool to rub the bunny into the tray firmly; you'll notice the color changing as it adheres.

  • Slowly peel off the clear transfer sheet. If needed, use the transfer tool to prevent the transfer from lifting as you pull.

What do you think? Whether you're a DIY beginner or a seasoned veteran, this project is perfect for you!
