The most wonderful time of the year has arrived. Are you ready to transform your bedroom into a cozy, festive space that radiates the spirit of Christmas? If so, pour yourself a cup of hot cocoa, wrap yourself in your coziest sweater, put on some Christmas music, and let’s get to it!

This blog is all about Expert Tips For Styling Your Bedroom For Christmas.

Create Your Own Christmas Garland

I create my Christmas garland the same way that I create my Fall garland. I start by laying down a base layer of lush greenery.

Utilizing jute twine, I securely bind each piece of greenery together so that the garland does not fall apart.

To ensure everything stays in place, I also use a little bit of tape to adhere a few sprigs of greenery to the headboard.

Once I've established the foundational layer of greenery, I enhance it by adding various selections of greenery, pinecones, and berries.

I continue this process until the garland achieves the appearance I desire.

The great thing about garlands is you can play around with your greenery so that it is customized to your home decor style.

How To DIY a Frame for a Seasonal Wall Art Canvas

I made the choice to replace the artwork adorning the wall above my bed with something that had a warmer, wintery feel!

For this particular artwork, I took a do-it-yourself approach to create a custom frame for the canvas print. This allowed me to add some dimension between the wall art and the plain white walls.

Below is a list of the items you will need to recreate this project:

To build the frame, I used scrap wood that I had lying around.

I measured the (4) sides of my canvas so I knew where to make my cuts on the scrap pieces of wood.

Next, I used a STAALMEESTER Pointed Sash Brush to apply Fusion Antiquing Glaze to the pieces of wood.

Once the Antiquing Glaze dried, I used my Cordless Brad Nailer to nail the wood directly into the wood on the canvas.

I’m thrilled with the final result! The stained DIY wooden frame really makes the image pop against my white wall. I've used Fusion Antiquing Glaze to stain several other pieces in this bedroom, creating a cohesive and harmonious look throughout the space.

Styling Shelves For Christmas

I started by going around and removing all of the fall decorations in my bedroom.

If you read my previous blog, The Ultimate Fall-Inspired Bedroom Makeover Guide, then you already know my #1 seasonal decor hack: When you put the previous season’s items away, place them inside a drawer in your room so you can easily put them back in the correct spot when the next season is over.

Here is how I swapped out my 2023 Fall Bedroom Decor for my 2023 Christmas Bedroom Decor:

  • I replaced the fall florals in the hanging purse with holiday greenery with blue berries. I also added a velvet red bow to really embellish the Christmas theme.

  • I swapped out the hanging mustard-colored blanket with a dark green throw blanket.

  • Then, I replaced the image hanging on the tapestry with a pair of thrifted white ice skates.

  • And lastly, I removed the hanging fall florals in the frame with some pine leaves.
